Twice recently I have had message details appear in the top pane but
nothing in the lower pane where the actual message should be. A few
days ago it was one from the Birthday Monitor, to-day it was from KRW in
the Ear Worm thread.

Anyrat else experiencing this? Is it glitch in my TB or further afield?

I think I have experienced that a few times. I think I put it down to a
minor hiccough or something timing out. Going to another message and
then back to the problem one probably fixed things.

Sorry, my rememberer is not functioning too well today, but I hope that

every few days.

So far (typing with everything crossed, excuse typos) no crashes and no
empty posts. I never have a lower pane in my preferred view, though, and
simply click on a subject to read a post.

Running TB version 102.14.0. (32 bit. Can't remember why I stuck with
32, but it seems to be OK. Should I upgrade to 64?)

I have been experiencing this for some time with Thunderbird. I have
only found that closing Thunderbird and restarting it means I then get
the message. But what is causing I know not.

I should add 102.14.0 64 bit. I have Thunderbird open all the time and
once I get a "blank" message then it will not send and receive on
news.plus.net at all - so restarting become essential.

I assume it is a time out glitch of some description which (given no-one
cares about usenet) no-one is going to fix.

Perhaps Thunderbird should be renamed ‘Thunderbox’, then it could just be
flushed out with water every so often.

That drew a blank with me.

I have sometimes found a blank lower field when Thunderbird is
struggling to download the message body[1]. It usually sorts itself out
after a second or three.

[1] I say Thunderbird is struggling, but it could be my internet
connection, the usenet server, or... <shrugs helplessly>

Not using TB (still TP here!), but a thought occurred to me: do you have
TB set - assuming it has such a setting - to, when an email or post
arrives in both forms, to show you the plain text version or the HTML
version? If there is such a setting, could it be that the sender is
using the one you're not seeing by default (or sending both but one of
them is blank)?

FWIW: (a) I haven't seen any blank ones from the Birthday Monitor
recently (that I've registered anyway), nor any others I've noticed and
(b) I'm currently getting UMRA from plusnet (though TP may fetch posts
in a different sequence to TB).

This has been happening here again today a lot.

I have tried to "Repair Folder" but each time I do the software tells me
that another operation is in process on the folder and I cannot repair it.

So I took Thunderbird offline and tried again - with the same result.

I then went to Properties Syncrhonisation and hit "Download Now"

And it decided to download 481 articles - which I suspect means that it
is all those I have already read.

Still cannot repair the folder. But I could read the two new posts
downloaded.

Hmm.
