Netweather, Accuweather, Google/Weather.com, Meteo.fr and some German site.

Accuweather was a little more optimistic. The rest said it (at least where I was going - Black Forest and Wiesbaden-ish) would be solid rain and thunderstorms. Which I don't mind for a bit, and would be no issue in a car/van, but not 8 hours a day on a bike.

I used to wear leather jeans and a Belstaff with railway waterproofs in
the rain.

when I say used to, I still wear that on the Guzzi, for old times sake.

The touring kit I used for the trip to Moldova (and other trips) is a
Klim textile jacket a pair of motorcycle specific cargo trousrs that
have a kevlar lining. Pretty effective.

I have a pair of (leaky) waterproof trousers if it rains.

It's in with the spare wheel. There's also a random condensor rattling
about in the wheel well.

Just re-direct the windscreen washers inside the car and you can give
yourself a quick "misting spray" when it gets too hot.

Had the TA3s fitted [1] Monday and popped out for a quick 30 mile ride
straight after. The bike felt like it was on "tiptoes" to me initially -
certainly a markedly different sensation to the outgoing tyres. Soon got
beyond this - not really pushed anything hard yet but as the miles went up the
sense of relaxation also increased.

A pair of Roadtec 01SE was £414 fitted two weeks ago.
Two years previously, a pair of Roadtec 01 (non-SE, but the SE is the
direct replacement) was around £300.

So, while they were never cheap, they became *more* expensive sometime
over the last two years.

Like everything else.

Hmm. I think I'll stick to fitting my own. £256 for a pair of Michelin whatevers
for the R1200RT.

Oddly while I didn't object to that, paying the same for a set of EBC disks seemed
to feel like a bit of a rip off.

I'll have you know that new tyres were needed with the bike only just
over two years old. At £400 a pair, and me being economically inactive
& poor, I'm not exactly going to replace tyres until they're really
needed.

Plus, I'm actually trying to not have to get it serviced twice this
year too, with service intervals of a mere 3750 miles.[1]
