When Gmail got fussy about who could send mail to their addresses I
found out what to do about it and set up TB on my computer, where I have
5 different versions of x@myemail.me.uk. (Not my real address!) For
each account's Server Settings I have that account's address as the User
Name and everything works perfectly.

I set up my sister's TB in exactly the same way, the only difference
being her various account names. Everything works EXCEPT that TB
"remembers" the User Name every time she sends an e-mail and when she
sends an e-mail from AccountA (with user name AccountA@etc) it goes,
then she tries to send an e-mail from AccountB and it won't go because
the Server Settings for AccountB now show AccountA as the User Name.

Like me she has about 5 different User Names and has to change the User
Name in Server Settings every time she moves from one account to
another. Why should this be when everything is set up the same as mine
and mine doesn't do that?

No idea of it's the same, but I found when I had to fix this that the
server setting I had to amend was at my hosting provider, not in my own
software. It's a list of the servers, which users of that domain can
send from; gmail interrogate the server occasionally to check. Most
hosting providers include the name of their own outgoing mail server in
the line (for the domains they handle) as a matter of course; I was
(still am) using PlusNet's outgoing server - relay.plus.net - for my
outgoing mail, and had to amend the relevant line at my hosting provider
(Krystal) to add that. (I added it rather than substituting it in case I
ever _do_ start to send via Krystal, e. g. if I leave PlusNet.)

Though that wouldn't explain why it's different for your two accounts
that you think are set up identically.
