I had a birthday lunch in the Brunswick Centre in London with family.
It was joint for me and smaller grandson, who will be 7 on the 14th. I
had a bag of presents for him, although he'd had one a few weeks
ago,when they dropped in on the way back from a stay in the Peak
District.

I'd just bought things and they were visible and I tried toask mum in
French if he should have one and he explained toher what I was asking
when she failed to :). He was allowed the yoyo, which have developed
since I had one. it kept him occupied for ages trying to do things
with it.

He spent ages at lunch unwrapping his presents as B had wrapped them
and he's the wrapping expert. Hospital corners and plenty of
cellotape. The top thing was the magnets from the science kit. it's
funnyhow he and #1 daughter's daughter have to be coaxed to eat
whenever we're out. Older brother of granddaughter used to be like
that too though and eats heartily now.

The Brunswick Centre is close to Coram Fields, a charity-funded
recreation area where older grandson used to go to nursery. It is a
big area with paddling pool, cafe and playground, so we went there
afterwards. There are enough shaded areas to make it pleasant, even
when the temperature is 30+ Birthday boy was a little grumpy as he'd
wanted to stay at an amusement arcade in the Brunswick Centre, but
they went back there afterwards.

When I got home I had a HUGE bunch of flowers whichcame from Moonpif,
with it's own vase and an outsize card. My ipad was not delivered on
Friday and DPD sent B a message at 20.45 to say they'd been unable to
deliver at 21.30 as nobody was home and they'd attempt delivery again
on Monday :( . I did tweet my outrage to them, but have not had a
response.
