I just got home from my surf spot and my cafe. It was dark at both
places. I normally show up at the cafe ~9am. It should be light then. A
woman was walking by. I asked her why it wasn't open. She said it opens
at 6 and it's not open all day. "But it's 9 o'clock. It should be open
now." That's when I realized it was 9pm, not 9am. Sheesh.

During my exams at 16 I got home one evening and fell asleep on my
bed. Cannabis might have been involved, I can't remember.

I woke up (at just after 8:30) in a blind panic since I had less than 30
minutes to get across town, to school to sit an exam. My father had
just got in from milking the cows (evening milking) and I managed to
get him straight into the car and about two miles down the road before
it dawned on me it was 20:45 (or so) and not 08:45...

in what turned out to be evening. If it was a puzzle, I would have
sussed it immediately.
A friend texted me to ask why I wasn't at the caf this morning. I told
her I felt like I had a cold. She said, get a covid test, just maybe. So
I did. And it came back positive. I have covid. Fark.

Oh, bollocks! AFAIK I've avoided it for three and a half years. The
between birthday and Xmas 'bug' felt like it could be, but tested -ve
(only one LFT TBF).

Felt weird last night. Aching in every limb and pains in my ribs. Then I
had been riding the Honda two up for 60 miles or so, with a long section
of filtering due to road works. It's a small bike and even with then
gossamer light SWMBO on the back it needs a fair amount of input at low
speed. Short wheel base or something.

Latest sub variant sounds as if it needs keeping an eye on but Corporal
Jones dictum applies.

I've had it twice. 1st time non-vaxxed, felt like I was at death's
door. 2nd time, post-vax, just felt tired, achy and my nose wouldn't
stop running. Fingers crossed you don't have any long term symptoms.
P has had it only once, coinciding with my bout in Dec 2021, but her
sense of smell is still very much not back to normal (cue world's
funniest and deadliest joke).

Bugger. In the same situation ergo mine turns out to just be a cold. My daughter
with whom I am staying her sniffles are COVID. I only checked as I was planning
to visit the aged parent and we have another relative in the middle of chemo.
Not that I would see either while with cold but COVID seems to linger longer.
