I appear to have been watching too many TV adverts and have been exposed
to 5G radiation.

Got some nasty pains in the chest overnight that just wouldn't go away,
and have woken up to find a (an?) horrible rash.

I think it's shingles.

Anyone else had it?

Aye. Usually on my chest, although I've still got scars on my forehead
from an outbreak there.

It's _usually_ just annoying, but not much more than that, once I
realise that it's not just where some bitey insect has been having a party.

Yeah it was weird chest type pains, I thought it was muscle strain at
first. Then I felt some bumps that I thought were bites or zits. Then I
looked in the mirror...

Yes indeed and good luck. It's a miserable complaintthat fortunately in my
case only lasted about a week. Buy a bottle of calomine lotion and apply
liberally.

My dad had a couple of times. Very unpleasant, I sprang for the vaccine a couple
of years ago so fingers crossed that's reduced the chances significantly.

redness/blistering, but, I can only buy it in tiny quantities without a
prescription.

Two of my brothers got it, sans vaccine, and had some semi-serious
complications that lasted for quite a while. That was all the hint
I needed to get the vax (2 parts).
