We are with OE, we like Gregg’ Jackson’s ethos, reasoning and attitude all
round; he has experienced hardship and grew up in poverty himself. It is a
great shame that other business leaders don’t relate to the good human
beans of this world themselves. There are various events related about
‘reaching out’ to OE customers in their times of trouble, it is a rare
event to hear of such events elsewhere. :-(((

Ok, time to come clean:
Wunderkind has bought an air fryer - and I have now ordered to Toodle’s air

Earlier this year, the world conspired to make me feel very much like a
poor old thing. On the day that the DWP wrote to me, inviting me to
claim my state pension, I received a free electric blanket from Octopus
Energy, which I've very much appreciated.

That was how I joined Octopus too; I have no idea why I was lucky and
was offered one, while you weren't.

I had had the same two thoughts, when I was writing my reply. Bulb
transferred people to Octopus in tranches though and, IIRC, I think I
was transferred a few months before Vicky was, so that may be the reason.

Luck of the draw? I've got an electric blanket that is at least 8
years old.

To be fair, E-on (1)(2) have launched a scheme this year which basically
reduces vulnerable customers' bills by 50% (until next March.) At
least, as I read it, 50% for those who started with a debt (which would
be wiped out) and 25% for others, which I thought very unfair. However,
I was in credit when I moved to this tariff and I seem to be getting 50%
off.

(1) That should probably be E-on Next, but heaven knows why.
(2) I've been with them for yonks and never had any problems with them.

My sister bought one (not one of the posh ones, a quite cheap version)
recently and is made up with it. She says that as a portion of chips
from the Chip Shop is far too much for one meal she can put half of them
in the 'frig. and next day warm them up in the air fryer "for 2 minutes"
and they are delicious.

I cannot believe that 2 minutes is sufficient to warm anything, other
than in a microwave. I have yet to have it proved to me.

That might be a metaphorical 2 minutes.
When I call Wofe to the table for a hot meal, the response:
"I'll be there in two minutes."
does _not_ mean what it says.

I think the last one I had was priced in £sd (or more likely just sd).

That was a house where the only heating was from two coal fireplaces in
downstairs rooms. The bedrooms were not comfortable places.

I suppose it depends on how thick or thin the chip may be.

When I buy a portion of fish and chips, they always give me far too
many chips so I freeze about half of them to eat later. When later
comes around I microwave them for a minute or so then whoosh them
around a hot, dry frying pan until they are crispy again. Not as
economical as an air fryer, I'm sure but as I have said before, in my
opinion in winter, in the kitchen there is no such thing as waste
heat.

No, I queried the 2 minutes in disbelieving tones but she assured me
that was correct.
