Although it's a bit the other way round.

I took my 2022 Husqvarna Norden in for it's 18,500 mile service (valves
etc.).

Came in at £943.43 (plus £6.35 for the train) - that was quite
something I thought.

However, in good news they agreed to replace the sticky fuel cap under
warranty. Which turns out that requires all locks on the bike to be
changed (ign, seat and cap).

There was some umming and ahhing about replacing a fork stanchion which
had some damage. Very tiny pits that led to a seal weeping - "Normal
wear and tear". The stanchion alone was over £400 and I'd need to get
some special tools.

Anyway, they've just agreed to that as well.

Turns out Husqvarna/KTM less fussy than Triumph.

Blimey. My S1000XR cost less than that for its big service, including a new rear tyre and with four times as many valves to check.

Mind you, its second (first full) service cost almost four grand, so the lord was very much in taking away mode that day.

They said they viewed fork seals as consumables (especially on an off
road bike) but the damage was caused by the defective fork leg.

It looks quite weired, almost like damage. The chrome hasn't lifted or
pitted in the rusty old fork leg way - it's like lots of tiny dings.
The chrome is soft? No idea, but they've agreed to replace it.

Different dealers but when I had a leaking fork leg on my Tiger 800 the
dealer in Thesalonika had to do some interesting admin to get paid for
it and it was done as part of a service (FOC).

Rear shock electronics had failed almost as soon as the warranty ended, and I had a ding in the front wheel that I hadn't noticed. Bike needed an MOT for an imminent trip and I didn't have time for a cheaper fix.

Quite vexing, as it ate the money I'd earmarked for refreshing the race bike, which ended up being scrapped instead.

Approx half a big service on my H2SX. Which, of course, has 4 four
times as many cylinders, so I obviously benefitted from some economies
of scale :-)

Makes the couple of hundred quid I very grudgingly pay for the
Energica seem pretty reasonable. Not convinced that an EV should need
such regular servicing, though they did find a couple of things were
loose, apparently, which surprised the hell out of me.

I believe the default setting in Google Photos when sharing via a
link is to hide the location metadata. If you share it to specific
people then there is an option to make the location visible.
