Using Usenapp 1.27.2
Is it possible to increase the font size? I can't find out where to do it. At
my age my eyes need help.

I found that reading glasses solved that problem. They help when
looking at things other than a computer screen, also.

When reading a message you can increase the font size by clicking on the menu
item to the left of the waste basket item and using the slider control. Then
the new font size remains when you compose a message.

Like you I've had a cataract operation and I am waiting ting for another on my
other eye.

As with many other apps, 'cmd +' will instantly embiggen text in the
main body reading panel.

Most other panels can be twiddled with the 'main tables font size'
slider in Preferences/Interface.

Anything still too small, you'll have to go back to macOS Preferences,
Displays and turn the size up there.

Too right. My accommodation (and to an extent adaption) have withered with age
until my eyes are pretty much fixed focus. So I have glasses for reading,
which actually hang round my neck all the time, glasses for the iMac at a
rather greater distance and varifocals for outside, driving and TV.

As Peter said, age is overrated. But I've worn glasses since my teens, because
I have astigmatism in both eyes.

Some years ago my employers paid for those in need to get “computer
glasses” which as you say focussed a little more distant than reading
specs. Like you I now use varifocals for general use but I bought some
cheap reading glasses from Wilko for use with my Macs. Sadly I’ll have to
look elsewhere if I need a new pair :-(
