Several “rom files.cfg” appeared in my download folder.
What are they?
Can they be deleted?

Updates to the Read Only Memory chips?

My Sonoma upgrade from Ventura didn't do this.

Rename them to "rom files.cfg.old" then move them into the Bin for a
few days. If nothing breaks, delete them.

It's a Mackbook Pro16-inch, 2019, and these files started appearing
after the last update to Sonoma 14.2.1

I'll do what you suggest and see what happens.
