I was being wossname. It is highly overrated though. There is wine the
world over that easily matches the quality of most French stuff.

We've had some rain here (very close to Portugal), so there's going to be
a bumper crop of grapes. This will bring prices down. Same with the
olives - I'm currently paying 12€ a litre for my favourite breakfast
extra virgin. Two years ago it was 6€. The man tells me that as long as
the flowers don't fall off, the price will come back down this year.
Putin permitting.

Unfortunately the rain in Spain falls mainly in the mountains, so the
crops can dry out very quickly.

I've regarded Lagavulin 16 to be Peak Whisky for many years. One can spend more, but not to any great effect. An Ardbeg or Highland Park would be the next.
Unfortunately owned by Diageo. Since 2020 prices have been hiked 50%+ grrrr. Small consolation that it's off the menu.
