Finally got around to investigating an alternative to
Google Groups.

In case anyone is interested it's Stephen Packer.

Read the news on Steve H; in the last month three
people I worked with have died (all in their 60s
so still young). Dropping like fucking flies.

The username was a Thomas Hardy reference I've used
elsewhere; I thought for a while it was the one I used
on UKRM IRC (remember that?) but I've just remembered
that was another Hardy reference.

I never would've guessed.

Hint: your email address is in the From header. You might want to change
that if you wish to remain incognito.

Not particularly searching for incognito but have changed it.

I thought about it but decided that it would be cheaper to rent
one for the 2 or 3 weeks that I would actually need it.
Bought a new estate car instead - the Renault Master is for sale.

that's my view, sort of - my trips away cost less than the depreciation let
alone running costs of ownership

although, being one of those rare beasts around here that still goes on
holiday via motorcycle, my outlay is in hotels. These costs are offset by
5% interest on the cash in my savings account that I have not spent on a
lump of metal rusting away on the drive

I saw my doctor a couple of days ago. He said all my numbers looked good
- blood, weight, lungs, etc, etc. Then he asked about any depression. I
had him laughing for the next 20 minutes. Then he prescribed some new
drugs to fight it.
