Wasn't there one of the Scottish detective series - Cracker was it? -
that carried on for some time after the disappearance of the nominative
character, still under the same name?

And then there are the spinoff series - Lewis, Holby, etc.; granted,
they have different names, but are the same "story arc" (I rather hate
that phrase [I think I first heard/read it in connection with Who]).

Given the change (how many decades ago now?) from the original MinOfAg
purpose, I suppose they could change the name, from TA to something else
("Ambridge" would seem the obvious), and then there could be episodes
with even 0 in them, but I really see no need to do so. (And good
historic reasons not to.)

That was Taggart, which carried on for rather more years after Mark
McManus, who played DCI Jim Taggart of Maryhill CID, died than it ever
did with him.

I was pondering this months ago, when the demographic shift
seemed well under way. I think I came up with
the like of Tracey's Patch (or Friends), or Horrobin Country.

Newcastle? (The gazetteer in the back of my 2022 road atlas has about
five of those.) Newbridge (8); Newport (11); Newton (31 on their own,

different topics to write about. As it is, cards sowing the New Forest
