What have the following album titles got in common?

Praise - Praise (Miriam Stockley)
Amused to Death - Roger Waters
The Soul Cages - Sting
The Immaculate Collection - Madonna

Ideally from CD, but check them out on Spotify with properly set up and
separated stereo speakers.

Remember the equilateral triangle!!

We don't need audio gear to work out what titles have in common - we
just need the titles, which you have kindly supplied. I don't see any
linguistic or semantic connection other than a very vague christian
reference maybe.

The effect doesn't totally disappear with compression, at least not on
Spotify at their highest (crap) bitrate. Try "Amused to Death - Roger
Waters" which is done particularly well.

Yeah, Pink Floyd have played with this stuff before, on 'Wish You Were
Here' though the exact system used is not credited, and could be an
extreme L/R phase shift on the start of the track.

Yup, got that on SACD and specially went out on eBay for a used Denon
DVD/SACD player with discrete multichannel outputs to play it through my
six speakers. I think I prefer the sound of my LP copy to be honest.

There is also something called "8D Audio", Binaural 3D google tells me,
which is meant to be effective on headphones.

Some fancy mobile phones and earbuds do some post edit sound processing
to match peoples earlobes, using a phone camera to take a 3D image of
the ear shape to further tune the psychoacoustics.

Curiously the new iPhone 14 features this and so has personal crash
detection, which presumably comes into play for the owner when you
unfortunately drive over them, them being completely oblivious to their
surroundings?

Next addition to a mobile phone will be an airbag.

Excuse me while I ring the patent office ...

Watching or listening though helicopter ER the other day I was fascinated
to hear that a horse rider who fell off escaped serious injury due to her
personal air bags.

Antiphase for this is an old trick. Alas, with the ESLs in my living room
it essentially gives a near-null in level where I sit. Worked a bit better
in another room where there is a window bay behind the listening seat.
