<https://www.rhs.org.uk/disease/blossom-wilt>

This seems to match what I have on the Victoria plum.

Advice seems to be to cut back if possible to minimise the amount of
pathogen available to infect fruit.

The possible implication is that the tree may well recover next year.

Infection is probably from fallen apples from trees round about, our
garden and others.

Worth leaving the branches on?

I can post pictures if that helps.

Cheers

ITYF this is a non-binary newsgroup, so you'd need to put it/them up on
a website somewhere and post a link.

Thanks - I know. :-)

I was only going to bother going through the rigmarole of posting pictures
if someone would find them useful.

Of course we are. There's too much pussyfooting these days - if any
minor slight can be imagined by the use of a perfectly innocuous word
the pussyfooters will use another which drifts away from the proper one
until the intended meaning is totally obscured - or returns to the
downright essence again.

Talk about calling a spade a spade! Don't get me started...

Nonbinary is a term that can be used by people who do not describe
themselves or their genders as fitting into the categories of man or woman.

I know. I was puzzled at first by the obscurations - one of my carers'
sisters (if he/she/it/they would answer to the description of 'sister')
was described to me as non-binary and I thought at the time 'that's a
bit cautious' - but with all this pussyfooting on Auntie BBC lately I
see (resignedly) that we're in for a long period of not the silliness -
first indication was when said carer referred to said person as 'my
sibling'.

They (carers) leave in a steady stream - I hope it's not on account of
my bellyaching... Today's escapee is one of my favourites: the Яussians
would call her a Stackhanovite (sp) - she used to breed dogs. When she's
not in caring mode she's a farmer's wife, but during the winter she's a
carer by day and (in *weather*) drives a gritter by night. Her hobby is
stock-car racing, and she does all her alterations/maintenance.

She's a big lass, she's a bonnie lass, and she likes her beer, but her
name's not Cushy Butterfield.

Who's got an earworm?
