So what is the better warmup match? Is it better to go into an Ashes series with winning confidence or "hard" cricket?

100000% better to play in the WTC final. Even if (somehow) Aus lose.

If it's 2-2 with the Oval to play then maybe the former for miles in legs. However, my punt is that it's more likely it'll be 3-1 to Aus come the Oval...

You're considering India as having put up "hard" opposition? Quite
generous, I'd say.

Cheers,

yes my thoughts too, so i'm also disloyal. i think bazball might succeed once but too
often [eg root ramping or reversing as soon as he comes in] it might just help oz
get our batters out quickly.

It may be that india will do something special and win tomorrow, but oz have put
themselves in the comanding position by playing cricket in the traditional way. And if
oz had scored 460 in 1 day rather than over 2 days, how would that have helped them?
it would just have given india more time to score the runs required to win.

the media hype may be bazball vs old style cricket, but really its gonna be sorted
by which is the best team and the best players. i would have more confidence
if all our best bowlers were fit, but some clearly arnt, and 1 who helped us win
2 ashes tests in 2019 isnt going to figure at all.
