A good example from the current round of CC matches is the exclusion of Tom Laws in the Surrey side despite Laws taking first first 5 wickets in an innings in the last CC match. RH

In the current Surrey match, Scott Newman scored 99 in his first class
innings. He was only playing because of injuries to other players.
Newman is a very talented batsman, who this season has scored 7
hundreds
for Surrey Seconds, which is going some. He also scored very heavily
last year. The fact that he has had to wait until he is 22 to make his
first class debut shows how a player needs opportunity as well as
talent.

b) a quick search for "Tom Laws" reveals your spelling it that way on 28/9/22, 12/9/22, 7/9/22, 31/7/22, 19/7/22, 13/7/22 and 27/6/22
