It's absolutely fair enough that he has been convicted on the drugs offence.

Was there any actual evidence that he drove carelessly or is that some
assumption on the part of the court because of the drugs?

If it is the second, it ought to be spelled out, wouldn't you agree?

I can see why they said it, but it could have the effect of making chavs
(cyclists, that sort of person) "think" that it's alright to imbibe
illegal drugs and then ride a fairy-cycle. Or even that it's alright to
smoke cannabis in a non-transport situation, when as we all know, it isn't.
