I hope they won't have been so discouraged that the first international
fixture will be their last.

Asian Games, Hangzhou:

Nepal 314-3 (20 overs): Malla 137* (50), Paudel 61 (27), Airee 52* (10)
Mongolia 41 (13.1 overs): Jamyansuren 10 (23)
Nepal won by 273 runs

Nepal aren't a bad team - ranked 17th in T20s.

In their 2nd match today, Mongolia played the Maldives, who are ranked 80th out of 87 ranked teams. Mongolia made 60/9, and Maldives won by 9 wickets in a third of the overs .

Mongolia have only been playing for a few years, and the weather there isnt really
cricket friendly.

this tourny must overlap with the odi WC, so i spose the big teams, india etc must be
made up of the 2nd xi reserves. the shape of the ground in hangzhou is rather
unorthodox.

No, but it looks like it's only the Maldives who are involved in the T20
World Cup qualifiers and the Asian Games at the same time. I don't know
which is their 1st XI.
