There's a WC warm-up match, India v England, today which has rather
slipped under the radar. It's being shown omn Sky. It was due to start
at 9:30 our time, but has been delayed, presumably by rain. India have
won the toss and will bet. The BBC website shows India as having 15
players and England 13 so - though I imagine only 11 will bat - it looks
like it may be no more than glorified practice.

I bet the indians are saying 'brought yor weather with you' but
as theyve lost 2.5 hours already, probably end up more like a t20
if they ever get going. I didnt realise they were starting off in assam.
it does rain a lot there, which makes me worried about the WC match
on monday vs the bangles.

Is it a Freudian slip to say the Indians will bet?

That match is another "warm-up". The first WC match is Eng v NZ at
Ahmedabad on Thursday.

I wonder whether this isn't a bit soon after the supposed end of the
monsoon to be playing, and if it would have been better to schedule the
tournament to start and finish a couple of weeks later.

England are scheduled to have another warm-up, which I thought was
against Pakistan, on Monday. Hopefully it will have better luck with the
weather.
