Whether the game was played it does not matter for purpose of comparing the two elevens., The XI 1964 was definitely selected by the powers that be of the time. .RH

You may have been looking at the Young England v Australians 60-over
match on 30th July, which was cancelled.

The match that Robert is referring to was MCC President's XI v
Australians on 19-21 August.

You've made a similar comparison before. But we have the benefit of
hindsight with the 1964 side, and know how good those selected
ultimately became. (I make it that 8 out of the 11 played for England -
indeed Boycott did so that same season.) We have no idea how good your
2023 players will in time become. As you've picked Brook, who has
already played for England, you might also have selected Pope (though of
course he's unfit right now).

Pope is comfortably over 25 -25 years and 272 days - . The side I selected are all under 25 . RH
