Had a delivery booked for 1030-1130pm yesterday.

Received two emails telling me that due to unforeseen circumstances the
delivery would be up to 90 minutes late.

I received an emailed invoice from the van driver at about 8.30pm.

I waited up until 2am. The delivery didn't comeat all, at all.

No further messages, either by phone or email from Ocado or their driver.

Angry email gone to Ocado Customer Services demanding delivery today
after 1pm.

Oh, and still no repeat prescription delivered.

Is York still on the map?

Will report back, unless my wifi is cut of!

No doubt you do look smart, but I'm surprised the next offcuttee[1] told you
so. Maybe he, she or it was attempting to ingratiate themselves with the
offcuttor.
[1] I took the liberty of inserting an extra 't' to avoid confusion with
cuties, off- or otherwise.

Update.

Got an apologetic phone-call from Ocado. Seems a delivery driver ran out
of time, but neglected to inform his customers that he wasn't going to
make it after a considerable delay in bulk delivery.

But I am getting my delivery twixt 6-9 this evening. And I have a £20
voucher for me trouble.

SWMBO has used Ocado for the last 5(? maybe) years & has usually found
them reasonably good.
Her current (strongly expressed) complaint is that they has completely
uggered up their website and how the ordering system operates.

Just one example:
She ordered some tea, it showed up on her order, but was marked "Out of
Stock".
She found another source, and then wanted to delete the tea off from her
order (just in case it came back into stock, & they tried to deliver it).
Nope! You cannot delete anything which is marked 'out of stock'.

Aaaand... Did it turn up when they said it would?

P.S. Our deliveries are always Wednesdays between 4 & 5 pm - and hardly
ever late.
Drivers have rung us, once or twice, to ask if they can deliver early.

Yup. Got a call on t'intercom at 6.30ish. 'Morrisons' he said.
'Morrisons? I asked. 'Oops. No, I meant Ocado' he replied.

Turns out he jbexs for both! Goes straight from a day shift with
Morrisons to an evening shift with Ocado. That is one dedicated van driver!

I don't do it that way. I flash up the last order and hit 'add all' then
delete what I don't want and add other stuff that I do. That way 'out of
stock' items aren't added to the list.

My beef with Ocado is the way they continue to break eggs. They pile
things into bags indiscriminately, and if the eggs are at the bottom,
they're in for a smashing ride.

A couple of weeks ago they broke a litre whiskey bockle. That was a mess!

A lot of their picking is done automatically, and I reckon there lies
the problem.

Can't fault the quality of their stuff though, if it makes the trip.
Much of it is M&S.

IME this suggests that getting enough zbarl to keep body and soul
together is difficult. One of my neighbours has to hold down three jobs
to pay his rent, heating and basic food; he always looks very tired!

way, when they were broken, scrambled eggses did not run over the rest

If you put them in your pockets you'll make sure they don't get broken
in the first place.

Eggses get their own bag, similarly inedible fluids don't get into
the same bags as comestibles.

It's more complicated than that.

When you're looking to add things to your list, you cannot add anything
that is marked 'out of stock'.

However, once you _have_ added something, they can later change their
minds and _then_ declare it 'out of stock'. Once that has happened you
_cannot_ delete it.

Really? I hope that my daughter does not read this.

When my daughter was at primary school she took a fresh egg to school in
the pocket of her school trousers*. Before assembly was over she had a
very wet, sticky school uniform.

Eggses need protection.

* Why she did it we never did manage to establish. She said Mummy had
told her to do it, whether she was lying or had misunderstood something
Mummy had said. This was within months of her arrival in the UK and her
English was still very limited.
