Congrats to Lyon who has now scored the most runs in tests without a 50, although he
came quite close again [he does have 500+ wkts too of course] Dunno if this is a
recent achievement, becos when i tried looking it up, the nearest i came up with
was Kemar Roach whos some way behind.

That's correct. Lyon actually took the record from Waqar Younis (1010
runs) in November 2019.

What's new is that he has now passed 1500 runs.

He now has more runs than anyone else who has made fewer than 3 50+
scores, passing Curtly Ambrose (1439 runs, 1x50) in his previous Test,
and Rangana Herath (1699 runs, 3x50) is the only player ahead of him
with fewer than 6 50+ scores.

He also has the lowest average (12.72) of anyone with 1500 runs, taking
that record from Herath (14.64).
