For those of us that have been on URG for a long time, I have heard
that Tony has died recently. His words of practical wisdom on all
things paving was legendary. His website https://www.pavingexpert.com/
is used constantly.

I'm so sorry to hear of Tony's passing. Indeed he was very
knowledgeable. I think my last correspondence with him was on the
subject of digital cameras.

He actually hosted our website:

http://www.u-r-g.co.uk/

which still seems to be accessible though, for how much longer, I don't
know.

Tony allowed me to edit the web pages when he no longer had the time
after he'd had a heart attack, though there haven't been any additions
for about ten years. If the site does go down I still have the urg pages
on my computer here in case anyone is interested in having them.

I am very sorry to hear that.

Tony hosted the urg website with pages of posters
gardens (including mine) and meets. He was endlessly
generous with his professional expertise and advice (I had
a drainage system and soakaway dedicated to his name
:-)). Those urglers ancient enough to have worked with him
at the Expertgardener website recall his irrepressible
humour and inventiveness (and his first heart attack).

His site was my go-to for paving etc. It was incredibly useful. I understood he originally started the site when recovering from sickness
