Just been through an EE nightmare!

Having booked G4 with them, and registered on their site so we can get
online when mobile, logging in keeps telling us that there is a mismatch
twixt user name and password, but it doesn't say which!

So we try 'Change Your Password'.

Then it wants to send us a security code to our email, but we can't read
that.

Why?

Because we can't boodly log in and get on line, that's why!

Doh!!

I now have 3 or 4 online institutions that require the sending
of an additional authorization code for login security.
My favourite is the one that offers a choice - each time -
of the method - email or text.
Some offer the choice when you create your profile but
not for each login.

While it might not help if the internet access point won't let me
connect to the net, I have a Google Mail addy which I give to various
web service providers as a contact point. I have the access codes for
the Google Mail app stored on the phone. I also have two SIMs with
access via different service providers.

Belt and braces eh?

I'm going to have to get on to EE again. I found that the X^5's or 6's
(can't unforget which she is now) flat is in an 'EE Hotspot' area, so I
bought a day's connection to try it out.

Fine it was, quite quick, so I bought a month's worth for her.

After 24 hours it informed us that we need to buy more time if we want
to continue online. I assumed therefore that the month's purchase had
not gone through because we were already online, so I 're-bought' it.

Got online. Thought I'd check my bank balance, and lo and behold they
had taken £39 quid off me twice for the same period!!

Shirley they should have the technology to prevent that sort of cock-up?

So.... it'll be 'hanging on the telephone' again tomorrow!

But at least I'm (eventually) talking to a Geordie that I can just about
understand, not an Indian that I can't at all, at all!

A sorta advantage of not having a smart phone is that my GP's practice
has finally accepted that I am probably their only patient without one.
Most of their patients are students. Thus I do get special treatment.
I'm probably the only person allowed to order prescriptions by email,
cos I can't download their app.

The vijo looks like it'd be quicker to walk along the roofs of the buses

Tis true. I have been caught up in more than one of them hour long
journeys from St Reatham Hill to St Leonard's at St Reatham. The
trouble is I cannot walk that distance anymore.

I have watched the goings on at various junctions on the route and it
would appear that a big part of the problem is bad driving practice at
junctions. Thames Water/UK Power are also regular contributors to these
delays. RTA's are also in there.

What I have problems with is understanding how LTNs can possibly be
contributing to the problem, other than prejudice against anything that
reduces that the car is doing to our environment. I live on the edge of
a LTN and it has made a tremendous improvement in the environment around
here. My wife suffers from severe asthma. When we moved here she did
not suffer from asthma, at all.

The hold ups are in a one mile stretch of St Reatham High Road. LTN s
seem to have improved the journey times, until it reaches the High Road.

It's all a devilish scheme. Sooner or later the punters will realise
they could have gotten to their destination in half the time, by
walking. Scrap the buses, get all the populace fit.

Not really, for many who are not particularly mobile. On Thursday the
bus past my home did not stop, it was already overcrowded. I had an
appointment so I tried to hobble, a distance that used to take me 10
minutes, to the main road where I would have a choice of buses. After
20 minutes I had covered less than half the distance and had to stop and
wait for the next bus, due to the pain in my hips and knees.

>Scrap the buses, get all the populace fit.

If there was no bus I would be even more isolated. Less than 30% of the
households in my local LTN have access to a private motor vehicle.
