I am using my Gillette Fusion Proglide for (at the moment) 61 shaves (61
down and 61 up) and it's working well (including the lubricant strip)

Just out of curiosity I checked the Gillette website who recommend 20
shaves.

If that's all you get then no wonder folks think they're expensive.

It's all I've ever used. If it ain't broke ..
I've used the same handle for about 35 - 40 years now
and it might just outlast me ..

Gillette fusion user here too. I crack out a new blade every 6 to 12
months. Yes, I do shave nearly every day (after showering).

There is a Wilkinson blade((s) - I CBA to check the number of blades) of
some sort on our bathroom shelf, last used when the fruit of my loins
last lived at home. That was before The Epidemic.

His beard is inherited from his Pinay mother and is not more than a wisp
on his upper lip. What the caretaker at my school called my own holiday
attempt (when I was 15) "Like nowt more than a sod over a rat 'ole'".
