An online cycling platform is encouraging people to get on their bikes this September to be in with the chance of winning a holiday worth £4,000. To enter people need to log each bike ride on the Love To Ride website or app.

Each time participants cycle, they increase their chances of winning a prize and there are prizes up for grabs for those who encourage others to ride. Other prizes on offer include an Electric Brompton C Line Explore, worth £2,995 and cash prizes for encouraging others to sign up.

Although the prizes are included as part of the Cycle September initiative, the platform is available to use all year round and with local and global leaderboards for individuals, groups and workplaces. The workplaces are divided into categories based on the number of employees with points being gained each time a staff member cycles to work.

In Bristol, Rolls-Royce is at the top of the workplace leaderboard with over 2,000 employees and Bristol City Council is second. Bristol-based software developer Ghyston has secured the top place in Bristol for companies with between 50 and 99 staff and is currently fourth place in the UK. Cycling social group Bristol Grit, which organises local cycling trips, has the number one slot in the group category.

Participants enter their address and complete a basic survey about their cycling habits. Visitors then have access the online platform tailored to those living in Bristol. On the website, users can find local bike shops and cycling tips.

For those who download the app, cycling trips will be logged automatically, on the website journeys must be filled out manually. Each time a trip is logged, the user's name is entered into the prize draw and each time participants successfully recommend someone to join, their name is entered into the cash prize draw.

Participants gain points for trips and recommendations and gain more points as mileage increases. Riders can register for free at here or by downloading the Love To Ride app.
