The taxi driver appeared at Peterlee Magistrates Court earlier this week where he was fined £846.

The incident, which took place in Stanley, required the driver to poop in front of a store, leaving his waste along with a stream of toilet paper along the way.

Following the incident, the neighborhood watchdog offered a £150 fixed penalty notice. However, since he failed to make the payment, a case file was prepared for the courts.

The man must now pay a total of £846 in fines and costs.

This incident comes after a Darlington woman was fined heavily after she was caught defecating in the doorway of a shop by community wardens earlier this year.

Catrina Holland was seen defecating on Brentnall Street in Middlesbrough by a borough security officer in June this year.

She was immediately served with a £25 fixed penalty notice, but this remained unpaid.

Holland, of Montrose Street, Darlington, was later found to have breached the city’s TS1 Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) when the case was heard in her absence at Teesside Magistrates’ Court.

The 50-year-old was fined £220 plus a victim surcharge of £88 and ordered to pay court costs of £200.
