=======================A van driver has been fined after a van was found parked across two disabled parking bays in Roscommon Town recently.

Roscommon Roads Policing Unit was on patrol in Roscommon Town when they discovered the van parked across two different disabled bays near The Square in the town.

A fixed charge penalty notice was issued to the driver.

An Garda Síochána is reminding road users to leave disabled parking bays clear for those who need them.

Those who have them reserved for them whether they want to use them or
not - or those who *need* them?

We all remember when you objected to a private ambulance being
stationary outside an undertaker's premises. You genuinely wanted the
firm's personnel to have to carry deceased people in body-bags some
distance - any distance - from the nearest car park accepting the vans
that "private ambulances" actually look like.
