This came up in passing while i was down one of those search engine rabbit
holes, but I vaguely recall during my time working that some military
aircraft had them wired inside hemispherical radome structures, one assumes
for reception in all directions.

More likely all frequencies, but it is a buzzword like AI has recently become.

I thought a fractal was effectively a pattern that repeats itself no matter
what scale it is viewed at, so you could be right about frequency.
I do recall in the 80s creating these graphically on the old computers of
the time in false colours as they looked nice, though to be honest, I always
found them a little scary.
Visions of whole universes existing inside a drop of water. Apparently many
plants tend to use them to construct themselves with a simple blue print so
to speak.
As an aerial, I suppose as long as you defined the range of frequencies you
could make some sort of system work with multiples of the frequencies in
use, maybe millimetre frequencies, or the resulting antenna would be very
big!

Indeed https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fractal_antenna

At low frequencies the aerial radiates as a whole, but at higher frequencies more from successively smaller iterations of the fractal.

There is an example in the article, but sadly not much use to you.

Yes, to the 'meaning' of fractal. The antennas are meant often to be
wideband and also near-omni. They can only approx this over some band,
though.
