No, I'm not reverting to my second childhood, I think my brain never
actually grew up out of the first one.
I was wondering, has the children's channel of ITV, now permanently been
killed off?
I looked through what might be out there for linear tv users in this
regard, and though the bbc still provide two channels, most of the rest seem
to be made by this channel called pop or similar, and mostly has cheaply
made cartoons all day.

Yes, closed (as a linear channel) on Sept 1st this year.

It's now part of the ITVX streaming platform

But for some reason it's still listed on PSB2 (terrestrial) and 10891H
(satellite) even though there are no video or sound streams associated
with those entries. I wonder if there is some reason why ITV want to
keep the entry as a placeholder...

Yes I noticed CITV on satellite is still slinging out about 1Mbps of
null data.

That seems a bit extreme then. Surely one might consider this being a bit
prejudiced, since the non connected viewer now only has bbc and that pop
thing. If you go online there seems to be any number of them called things
like tomb goggles and other ridiculous names.

Who knows, look how long the cbs channels had ghost ones listed on a retune
with nothing on them.

I'd have thought Offcom might have had something to say about provision for
children. Looking at some of the free online offerings, they really are
pretty awful cartoons and animations mostly aimed at Americans.

The teachers in School will soon complain at all children talking like
Americans. Brian
