I have now received the following response from ITVX:

Sorry for the late reply, although Panasonic TV is an Android the
manufacturer has not allowed Live Streaming. I had this issue for a
very long time with LG so I have put in a feature request for you, it
is worth me doing this as LG TV's can now stream Live content.
