I had thought the enquiry had already started - did the new government
stop it?

I agree that it should not white wash anything. Saving 22,000 lives
(in comparison to the results of the USA - fewer in comparison with
Australia), but having an actual reduction in deaths from the expected
level, was a significant achievement. (Some of those saving would for
example have been from fewer road deaths, but more were probably from
lower influenza deaths due to higher vaccination levels). Saving our
economy from greater losses occurring elsewhere is probably not as
significant to some because we did not personally experience the
problems that occurred in many other countries. The division caused by
deliberate mis-information, often politically motivated, is not
acknowledged by some, but has been a disappointing lack of
truthfulness by many - not just from people in other countries, but
sadly from some New Zealanders. The political destabilisation of the
USA which stemmed from both internal and external operators has had a
world-wide effect, and New Zealand has not been immune.

deliberate misinformation.
