Ah'ernoon from a cold, damp, overcast, dark, dull and dismal day
again, here in South Yorkshire. Temperature out there is 7C (44.6F)
but feeling more like 4C (39.2F) with the gusty, up to 25 mph wind, from
the SSW. Barometric pressure has steadied at 981.0 mB with the RH at
91% and falling. Forecast is for it to remain overcast with the
temperature at ~7C (44.6F) and some heavy showers throughout the day.
Enjoy your New Year's Eve, take care and stay safe.
Sootie laid in until around 10:00 before breakfasting and going out.
Tabby ate supper at 00:20 last night and was here before 10:00 today
eating a breakfast. Sootie returned home by 11:00 and is now back
snoozing whilst Tabby is off, presumably calling at her usual watering
holes.
Looks like I'm not venturing out for a few days as Celica has an
ultra flat battery. There's no around here with any jump leads and my,
so called, "Jump starter" is fully charged but, is discharging
every time I try to use it. My car insurance breakdown service does not
cover home call outs so I'm now stuck until garage man comes on Thursday
to collect Celica for it's annual mini-service and MOT. Any ideas? My
brain, especially the memory bit, seems to have given up the ghost as
well!! :(

A battery charger? Though it sounds like your car battery may have died
completely?
Maybe see what your garage says. And should you alert them that your
battery is flat before they call?

Still can't contact anyone local yet, so tomorrow it will have to be.
Yes, I agree, it does seem like the baterry has died almost completely.
After all it didn't have the best of treatment during those covid
lockdowns etc. Although I keep my portable electronic lithium 'Jump
starter' fully charged, even that get's drained when I try that.
