Are doctors OBLIGED to upload data to My Health? So far I have seen
only references to vaccinations during covid. The last checkup I had
to a different doctor at the usual clinic who actually did upload the
data, though I had to request it.

These days one has a "clinic" and less so a doctor because they're
"busy", "rostered off", "sick", or "on leave" and even "maternity
leave"!

Do doctors fear competition given the My Health data can be accessed
by any other doctor? Unlikely, because patient data is shared within
a clinic.
Maybe they don't want other doctors at other clinics pinching their
patients.

Same for hospitals and outpatients?

I understand there's an "opt-out" clause for My Health, so one has to
specifically request no upload.

Can I go back and request past info be uploaded? A visit to a
hospital means filling out a form with old data, next of kin,
allergies etc etc etc! Surely all this data should be centralized,
like on MyHealth.

Dont get that with mine.

Nope, they are just taking their time to implement it. It isnt cheap to
implement.

Not possible.

Obviously only if your doctor's clinic does it.

It is stored by my hospital. Not clear about MyHealth.

Well, then the system is flawed!
My 92yo mother's niece has a constellation of ailments due to her age
and has to go through the rigmarole of disclosure every time she's
dumped into this-and-that clinic/specialist/rehab etc, which creates
confusion if she cannot remember tiny details. I thought MyHealth
was meant to prevent this.
The hospitals have their own databases, each with a different one it
seems. Wadda load of crap.

That's inevitable with any system like that.

Yes, but given the cost of being part of it, and the fact that
you are free to not be part of that, that result is inevitable.

Yes, but given how things were done pre MyHealth, that is inevitable.

That is complete bullshit.

Then do the decent thing and set fire to yourself outside your nearest
hospital.

That will see them get their act into gear for sure.

No, it is not bullshit. Not even slightly bullshit. There's not a
scintilla of bullshit in it.
Hospitals come in all shapes and sizes, religious, secular, grouped,
home Care/Nursing homes affiliations, and they have there own computer
systems, designed and installed by this/that IT firm. No hospital
wants to trash their system & join another because of the cost
involved.
Christ! Remember the panic when some hospitals' systems were hacked
because their Windows XP systems were not upgraded?
I rest my case, and I expect you to withdraw, humbly, that bullshit
epithet.

It is in fact complete and utter mindless pig ignorant bullshit.

Doesnt mean that every single govt base hospital
has had its own personal database designed from
the ground up just for them, fuckwit.

You are just plain wrong on the designed.

Thanks for that completely superfluous proof that
you have never ever had a fucking clue about
anything at all, ever, let along database design.

It would cost a fucking sight more to have their own personal
bespoke design for each individual hospital, fuckwit.

> Christ! Remember the panic when some hospitals' systems werehacked

Irrelevant to whether each individual hospital ever had
their own personal despoke database designed for them.

Nope, MyHealth is actually about having a single database
for MEDICAL RECORDS which everyone involved in the
medical industry and those who have used the medical
industry at any time have access to if they want to do that.

Nothing whatever to do with the vast amounts of other
data that any hospital needs to have, most obviously
with appointments, employment records, medical supplys,
general hospital maintenance and construction etc.

Who gives a rat's bum about appointments? I'm talking about static
data on history, Neanderthal. For example (since ewe need one), if
you're discovered one early morning face down in a Red-light district
gutter, then a short application to a central database would reveal
your whole sordid medical history resulting in a life-saving injection
of the latest penicillins. No appointment necessary.

Obviously the hospital database system has to, stupid.

But are so stupid that you can't manage to work out
that hospital database systems have to handle a hell
of a lot more than just static data on history, fuckwit.

Mine has blood tests, which were ordered by both public hospital and
local GP. But only seems to go back to 2020, although the system began
in 2016 as far as I know.

I have just checked on that and my hospital does upload to the
MyHealth system, but there is no real information uploaded, just
the name of the doctor involved and the date with one of mine.
And nothing at all with the latest, minor surgery/skin cancer.

The GP has uploaded all the scripts and just stated the
date and doctor's name for the consult that produced
the referral for the minor op in the hospital.

I didnt have to explicitly request any of that be uploaded.

No test results have been uploaded. The recent tests have
been done by a woman who shows up in the GP clinic for
the morning. Not clear who pays her.

Just checked why that is and that's just because my GP
is a real technohater. A couple of the other GPs in that
surgery do upload them to myhealth but he doesnt yet.
He is all setup to do it but just doesnt. He has started
to do escripts now, so likely it will happen sometime.
