Hello,

How do I tell iPhone's iOS Mail app about the new/changed
password with MS Outlook.com account? I don't see an option to
change its password in iOS v17.4.1's Settings' Mail Accounts'
Outlook (not MS' Outlook app -- Apple's default Mail app). Do I
really have to remove the account, readd, enter the new password,
and synchronizes my emails that I am reading online (e.g.,
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/254401200 and
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/254075400)?

Thank you for reading and hopefully answering soon. :)

Have you tried deleting the old password then completely exiting the mail
app, using the app switcher to exit? Or maybe deleting the outlook account
in mail settings, then add it back? I don't know if any of this will work,
but may be worth a try.

Settings - Mail - Accounts - Account Settings - Password (delete the

That seems to be normal behavior for several people in this group. If
there’s any perceived slight of Apple they instantly converge on you like a
bunch of wasps.

Compensating. (Not very well, mind you).

It depends how you set it up originally. For an exchange server or perhaps
even outlook.com account it doesn't save a password, but uses a token set
by MS to verify your iphone. A change of password doesn't change the token.
Gmail is the same these days as well.

Have you actually changed your password and are you unable to receive or
send emails?

In the past with old gmail if I changed the password iOS would bring up a
pop-up asking to re-authenticate the mail app.

Just wait.

When the app tries to get mail and uses a wrong password, you'll be
prompted to enter the correct one.

Check for new messages and it will ask for the password.

That's rich coming from the troll who regularly pokes fun at Yellow
iPhones, Blue Bubbles, and all sorts of other juvenile nonsense. You get
the feedback you deserve in every one of those cases. Trolls and bullies
are always the first to claim they are "the true victims". 😉

Yeah, that works (the next day) but is there no way to do it right away
instead of waiting and not deleting and readding this account?

iPhone finally told me the old password didn't work the next morning and
let me change the password to the new one. I didn't see a way to change
before this happened that I could find hence my post here. Also, this is
with Duo Mobile app for its 2FA (enter the three numbers to appprove).
Is this the token?

Is it supposed to take a long time to the next morning? I was trying to
make it happen right after the password change via the web site. :/

Don’t know what you are doing, but for me, if I change a password in one of
my apple mail accounts, I get a prompt right away to reenter a new password
as soon as I check for new mail.
