Since the asshats at Apple insist on soldering SSD to the mother board
despite oodles of room for SSD NVMe slots... and their 2TB option is
wildly overpriced ...

I'd rather spend $220 for a 1TB Envoy Pro.

When the spinning rust on my last Intel iMac got too slow for the latest
macOS, I opted for a 1TB Crucial SSD hung off a Thunderbolt port. That
kept the iMac going for another couple of software cycles, until it gave
up the ghost for another reason.
