Yes that is correct. You can also use your ISP SMTP servers or gmail,
smtp.gmail.com (port 465) if you set them up with your logon credentials.

I wanted to make sure my favorite ones still worked with Tor.

I stay away from Google as totally and completely as possilble.

Google is a useful backup and they can't decode the traffic. You could
use any available SMTP service. OmniMix is the safest and best.

I routinely send via google and other smtp servers when traveling.
