In my XP, I simply Right click on my file explorer and use it's Search
Menu to find any word in a saved txt or html file.

In my Win 7, I can find no Right click function for Search. The
search box in the Start menu only finds files and folders.

What I need is a simple freebie proggie which will search for the
contents of txt or html files in Win 7.

I don't want any complicated database stuff.

Check out Agent Ransack 2016 version (~15Mb) at
https://qa.mythicsoft.com/13799/where-can-i-download-old-versions-of-agent-ransack

now called FileLocator or similair (~73Mb).
I've been using AR for years now and it does what I want quickly on my
Windows 8 machine.
Cheers

Which leg do you mean? Left? Right? Middle? Mine are all different.

John C. No ad, CD, cripple, demo, nag, pay, pirated, share, spy,
time-limited, trial or web wares for me please.

So that I don't see them, I filter out crossposts (messages sent to
multiple newsgroups at a time) and from various trolls (like "al" AKA
"Bill Bennett".)
If you do the same, the group will be easier for you to read.

Thank you for trusting cats to help you regarding this delicate matter.

Your tailor or Gentleman's Gentleman should be able to provide you with
a satisfactory answer armed only with a tape measure and details of
which side you dress they will be able to measure the distance between
your crotch and your ankle bone causing as little disruption as
possible. Please note, you won't be required to cough.
