At which level? There a four (all described in the man page):
- Selection level -> top level to select groups, Date is obvoius not
available

- Group level -> configurable via group_format, see
"CUSTOMIZING THE SCREEN FORMAT"

- Thread level -> configurable via thread_format, see
"CUSTOMIZING THE SCREEN FORMAT"

- Article level -> viewing an article, date is always present in the upper
left corner. aditionally (if you want to see the full header) you could
add it to news_headers_to_display (or press PageToggleAllHeaders '*', or
PageToggleRaw '^H').
