* CEO Mike Sievert rules in “capital-burdened” 5G FWA, but focusing on
“excess capacity” approach for now.

* NatCo’s leadership still unwilling to talk fibre, despite recent
expansion to Colorado.

* CEO raises postpaid net adds and financial guidance for FY23,
although Wall Street Q1 estimates were missed.

Mike Sievert, Chief Executive at T-Mobile US (TMUS), was in
traditional upbeat mood about the performance of the self-styled
Un-Carrier’s fixed wireless access (FWA) service, although there are
signs that take-up growth is starting to slow.

In the first quarter of 2023 (Q1 FY23), TMUS gained 523,000 net new
customers for the high-speed internet service, taking its total
customer base to 3.2 million. However, new customer adds had reached
524,000 in Q4 FY22 and 578,000 in Q3 FY22, suggesting that the peak
has been reached.
