Hey,

I have seen that the Apple //c and //c+ are exposing some ROM content in the area $C5XX and $C7XX but there are no slot cards assigned to these slots so what is the functionality and purpose of these slots?

Thx

C5XX is the smartport so you can use 3.5" drives although I think is it Unidisk 3.5 only.

C7XX is "it depends" If I remember on the original //c it was to allow a boot from an external 5.25 drive. Then it was supposed to be for localtalk support, but that never materialized so it became either the mouse or the memory expansion card support.

Apple moved the ROM code around on the //c very freely since they didn't have to worry about an expansion card compatability.
