I use Microsoft edge on Windows 10, usually with no problem.
A couple of days ago I spent some time watching YouTube videos and now a
second copy of 'Edge' opens up at random (as a shotcut at the bottom-
left of the screen next to the one I'm using). It goes away when I close
it, then reappears a short time later.
How to get rid?

You sure that it's not the picture-in-picture function of Youtube? I
think it's called mini-player.... look at the bottom bar of each YouTube
video1

It sounds like the popup thumbnails which appear when the mouse hovers
over an icon on the Taskbar. Not specific to YouTube or even Edge. There
are supposed to be advanced system settings to turn it off.
