The items I use most frequently are copy, cut, paste, scan with AV,
properties, delete; but they are preceded by others. This often requires
me to scroll down for the ones I want.
On my Win11 laptop I have to click on "show more options" almost always.

It strikes me that someone somewhere (student in college, programming
fan, retired MS worker etc.) should have produced some software to do
the editing.
Does anybody know of one?

Ed

I have this as a note filed away. It should work.

How to Restore the Old Context Menu in Windows 11

To bring the Windows 10 context menu back to Windows 11, you must tweak your
Registry settings. More specifically, you need to add a new InprocServer32 key
under the CLSID class.

1. Navigate to Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\CLASSES\CLSID.
2. Create new key {86ca1aa0-34aa-4e8b-a509-50c905bae2a2}.
3. Right-click on the key you just created and select New > Key again.
4. Name the new key InprocServer32.
5. Double-click the Default key under InprocServer32.
6. Close the Default key without editing anything.
7. Exit the Registry Editor and restart your computer.

When you right-click on your desktop, the classic Windows 10 context menu should
be visible on the screen. Keep in mind that you need to restart your computer to
apply the changes.

I'm not sure if you wanted an editor for Win10 or Win11.
This is compatible with Win10.

context-menus

Not generalized editing, but at least it eliminates
"show more options" without a need for third-party
software.

Here are three Context Menu progs I've had for years.
I was hoping for something more all-embracing.
