The North Sentinel Island has an area of 23 square
miles.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Sentinel_Island

Is there a way to draw a circle from my home that encompasses 23 square
miles to show my kids how big that is for a population of 100 people?

A search shows 23 square miles is a radius of 2.7 miles.
https://coolconversion.com/geometry/circle/area/index.php
Radius = 2.7 miles
Diameter = 5.4 miles
Circumference = 17 miles
Area = 23 square miles

Is there a way to draw a circle on a Google Map of radius 2.7 miles?
I want to print it and cut it out to show the kids what it would be.

Crudely I can right click and "Measure distance" a few times to approximate
a circle on a Google Map but is there a tool that does it already for you?

I don't know of any way to do it with Google maps but Reddit had this.
https://www.abcsupply.com/locations/ which shows areas from zip codes.

Maybe you can tweak the nuke map by guessing at the kilotons?

If you're using Google Earth Pro (the application on a Mac, PC or
Linux), use the "Ruler" tool, Circle, set it to the units you want and
go to town. (It's a free program).

Use the polygon tool to do more useful things, perhaps.

And really, do it in metric. Time for the kids to grow up.

That's almost perfect (the zoom is difficult to deal with) where I've
already made an image and cut it out and surrounded it by blue water.

It's for a project at school where the topic is people who just want to be
left alone and this island has somewhere around 100 people just like that.

She asked me "how big is the island" and I said it was "about as big as
Manhattan Island" or "San Marino" which makes no sense to a 3rd grader.

I needed something localized as if the school was at the center of North
Sentinel Island.

The goal is to center it at the local elementary school so that my kid
could show the project to other kids and it will have a size/density impact
on them given each classroom has about 25 students so it's four classrooms
of people in that 23 square mile area who just want to be left all alone.

Thank you for that map circle tool.

My gosh, if you're going to print it, then ignore all these complicated
suggestions involving software. Measure and draw your circle on the
paper printout.

Before you print use Measure Distance to find two spots that are 2.7
miles apart and write down wwhere they are. One could be any
intersection or identifiable spot, and you can find one re-findable spot
that is 2.7 miles away.

Then print it, then set your compass (Compass_(drawing_tool) in
wikipedia, the one with a point on one leg and a pencil on the other).
Set your compass to the distance of those two identified spots, then
move the pointed end to the center of your circle and draw your circle
on the paper printout.

North Sentinal Island is mostly a lagoon. I suspect that area of the
lagoon is including in the 23 square miles even though no humans live
there.

Don't know about that lagoon idea. I zoomed in and I can see trees for the entire area of the island.

That boat is the HMS Primrose, a 16Kton freighter that ran aground.

You're supposed to know the story of that island, which is different from
any other island in the entire world in that the natives have been isolated
since the ice age left them stranded and they kill anyone who visits them.

Pretty much they kill everyone who lands on the island who won't leave.

It's unlikely that they've occupied that island since the Ice Age. There
are several online pics of the North Sentinelese being normal friendly
hosts to visitors. That changed after the natives learned that the
visitors brought death with them in the form of disease.

The anthropologists think that they arrived well before the ice age.
The only significance of the ice age is that's what stranded them.

I know all about them as I know the story of every person documented to
have visited the island, some of whom left with an arrow in their thigh.

Each "visit" starts and ends the same as the pattern keeps repeating.
Here's the pattern from the adventure seeker who would have killed them.

It's a good story for the kids that some people just want to be left alone.
