I tried eating one the first time.  Not good.  They give some meat away
and some is alligator food.  They offer hunting for them, too.

If you are talking about the Loyalists, they spread all over the province and their numbers were great enough to carve a new province , New Brunswick, from the western part of Nova Scotia.
My maternal grandmothers people were Danish who came north to escape the ungrateful rabble in Harlem.
They went to Saint John first and then crossed the Bay of Fundy to the Digby area. The family still owns the farm down there.
