Think Norwegian Cruise Lines. Not Disney quality, but within about
85%, I'd say.

We did a Norwegian in the fall. Sailed out of Boston and up the 'nadian coast. Norwegian was good but the ports we stopped in weren't, except for Portland and Bar Harbor.

We're doing another Norwegian this summer to Alaska. We'll be done with cruises after that.

Glad you told me. We were thinking of that cruise, now I can stop! If
you sail out of Vancouver, you'll get to spend more time for
excursions or just visiting. Leaving Seattle cost us tour time. When
we stopped in Vancouver on the way back we had only about two hours on
shore. Just enough to visit the Customs office.

Well, for your info, we renewed our passports last fall that had expired. I plan to take a cruise to the Eastern Caribbean soon. Just making sure Covid is under control and I pick a good safe clean cruise line. Since the wife is half Norwegian I'll probably lean to that company.

No questions here. The fact that you think all there is to do onboard is play bingo or bowl tells me you have never been on a cruise. The reason for your passports likely was to get timely health care, when you could afford it or had to have it.

Oh, BTW, "Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (NCLH) is a holding company that is domiciled in Bermuda and based in the United States. It operates three cruise lines as wholly owned subsidiaries: Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises, and Regent Seven Seas Cruises." Norwegian hasn't been "Norwegian" for nearly 25 years. One guy left and started Carnival (puke), and the other sold it in 2000. Not quite the flex or standup behavior you thought it was. But do give the US some of your loonies. :)

If you do actually go, I highly suggest that you upgrade to a suite and get the dining package. Yes they nickel and dime you to death, but the room, amenities, and food is much better than the standard fare. After the Alaska trip we're done unless we decide to do a Panama Canal trip. I doubt I could get my wife on a flight to Europe to do a European river cruise. She hates long flights. Restless legs.

For the John, a seniors cruise where bingo and bowling top the list or when he regresses, a Disney cruise where he can follow around and fawn over his favourite cartoon characters.
For me, adventure type cruises on smaller ships would be ideal.

That would be perfect for a guy like you who likes all things

A former boss lady was/is on that island running a fishing charter business... but I haven't heard about her for years. The buddy you talk about was in the British Virgin Islands. Health concerns brought him back home a half dozen years ago and although he dreams about getting a boat to live on up here reality says his next stop will be seniors assisted living.

We did the Alaska cruise several years ago on Princess Lines. On the
advice of others we flew into Fairbanks via Seattle and Anchorage.
From Fairbanks we did the land excursion south to Whittier and boarded
ship there. It was a great trip, highly recommended.
