It was known very early on that children were not at risk. **This was known in the first few months of 2020.**.

And yet, schools were shut down for years and children's education were irreparably harmed. Online classes are no substitute for in-person classes. Not even close. It is true.

As if underperforming American public schools did not have enough problems already.

Total overreaction. And absolutely criminal.

Wrong. For one thing, children are a vector for Covid. What's really
criminal is the ignorance that still informs the public's understanding
of how this disease works and spreads.

With a disease as virulent as COVID, anybody could be a vector for
COVID. Implying that it was children who were the primary vectors
and not older adults is wrong.

I'm going to make an accusation here: Teachers were discriminating against
children of the working poor because they were blaming their parents for
the community disease spread, combined with their personal ignorance and
irrational fears even as we started learning what we should be less afraid
of within a few months of the start of the pandemic.

Because the working poor had to, well, work, and upper middle class
people could phone in to their jobs, these workers were spreading the
disease to each other. Nevertheless, their children were substantially
less likely to be disease vectors or even get infected than their
parents were and older relatives.

Teachers harmed children while issuing nonstop propoganda that they
demanded schools be closed entirely to protect children.

It was a hideous lie. Children who missed school are now three years
behind and don't seem to be regaining the missing years.

No, teachers were going to spread COVID to each other. Don't close the
classroom, which has a single adult in it. Close the teachers' loungue
and suspend in-person staff meetings and institutes.

Many countries chose to keep their schools open during the pandemic.

Denmark
Finland
Norway
Sweden
Iceland
Germany
Austria
Switzerland
Poland

These countries made the decision to keep schools open based on a number of factors, including the relatively low risk of transmission of COVID-19 in children, ***the importance of in-person learning for children's development, and the potential negative consequences of school closures on children's mental health and well-being***.

The results of keeping schools open in these countries were mixed. Some studies have shown that there was no significant difference in the rates of COVID-19 transmission between countries that kept schools open and countries that closed schools. However, other studies have shown that there was a small increase in the rates of transmission in countries that kept schools open.

Overall, the evidence on the impact of keeping schools open during the pandemic is still mixed. However, the majority of studies suggest that the benefits of keeping schools open outweigh the risks. This is especially true for younger children, who are at lower risk of serious illness from COVID-19.

Here are some of the conclusions that can be drawn from the experiences of countries that kept schools open during the pandemic:

It is possible to keep schools open safely, even during a pandemic.
There are a number of factors that can be used to mitigate the risk of transmission in schools, such as social distancing, mask-wearing, and regular testing.
The benefits of keeping schools open outweigh the risks, especially for younger children.

From the beginning, the people in charge of handling Covid made their
edicts with little public input and no discussion or questions
allowed. Whether the topic was masking, social distancing, business
closures, school closures, public gatherings, vaccines, boosters,
hydroxychloroquine, or anything else, there was ONE viewpoint allowed.
If you didn't parrot it, you were mocked, silenced, cancelled,
censored, and/or taken down. Every tool at the disposal of the powers
that be was wielded to make sure that there was no wrongspeak. And
that, my friend, A Friend, is a recipe for ignorance. When we keep
telling people not to think for themselves, and we clamp down on those
who do, we can't turn around and blame them for being ignorant.

There were many crimes committed against the people in the name of
Covid, and school closings are way up near the top, but the worst of
all was the suppression of independent, critical thought. How did this
happen in the United States? Why have people not gone to prison for
it?
