A 40-year-old Russian tech entrepreneur who bolstered President Putin's
domestic mass-surveillance operations was found dead over the weekend,
having allegedly overdosed on "medical gas".

"It is with great sadness that we announce that on July 22, Saturday,
at the age of 40, the head of ICS Holding, well-known Russian
technology entrepreneur Anton Andreyevich Cherepennikov, passed away,"
his company ICS Holding wrote on Telegram. "We are all mourning these
moments."

Cherepennikov, subject to US sanctions, was found dead on Friday night
at his office in the south of Moscow, with the preliminary cause of
death announced as "cardiac arrest". However, a source in Moscow law
enforcement later told the Russian channel RTVI that he overdosed on
"medical gas".

A Russian energy mogul has been found dead in pretrial detention, an incident

Igor Shkurko, 49, was the deputy director of Yakutskenergo, a Russian company
based in Yakutsk, in eastern Siberia. He was arrested on March 30 on suspicion
of taking a bribe of about �5,000 and was detained the next day at the "request"
of investigating authorities, according to the local arm of the Russian tabloid
Komsomolskaya Pravda. He filed an appeal on Tuesday.

A "high-ranking source" reportedly confirmed his death to arcticpost.ru, stating
