Just got a message from a well-connected friend in the PNW. Apparently
he knows a professor at Portland State University. This professor told
him about an event that occurred in a "Progressivism 101" class. A
student was failing badly but the professor decided to give him one last
chance to make a passing grade. He had the student come to the front of
the classroom and then asked him to spell "liberal". The student thought
for a long while and them hesitatingly spelled out "l-i-b-e-r-a-l".
There was an immediate grown from the other students who empathetically
yelled out "give him another chance!". Turns out that student goes by
the moniker "TB". Somehow all of his classmates ended up as members of
the Portland Council of Commissioners.

I haven't been able to independently verify this but what the hell, that
makes no difference in today's environment.
